Giriş
Almancada es birçok farklı işlevde kullanılır: hava durumu (es regnet), kişisiz yapılar (es gibt), biçimsel özne (es wird diskutiert) ve sabit ifadeler (es handelt sich um). Türkçede bu yapıların çoğunda es'e karşılık gelen bir kelime yoktur — cümle öznesizdır veya farklı bir yapı kullanılır.
