中文「哪个」「哪本」「哪部」不涉及性别或格变化。德语疑问代词 welch-（哪个）则要根据名词的性别和格变化词尾：welcher（阳性主格）、welche（阴性主格）、welches（中性主格），宾格和与格还有进一步变化。这是冠词变格体系在疑问词上的延伸。
