Introducción
En español usamos el condicional para pedir cortésmente: «¿Podría ayudarme?». En alemán se usan formas similares: könnten Sie (¿podría usted?), würden Sie (¿haría usted?) y dürfte ich (¿me permitiría?). Estas formas del Konjunktiv II son el equivalente exacto del condicional español y se usan mucho en situaciones formales.

Diferencia clave
La estructura es casi idéntica. Könnten = podría. Sie = usted. El infinitivo va al final.

Dürfte ich es más formal que könnte ich. En español usamos «me permitiría» o «podría».
Errores comunes de hablantes de Spanish
Usar können en vez de könnten en contextos formales: «Können Sie mir helfen?»
Es la diferencia entre «¿Puede ayudarme?» y «¿Podría ayudarme?». La segunda es más cortés.
Olvidar bitte: «Könnten Sie mir helfen?» suena más seco sin bitte
En español «por favor» es habitual. En alemán bitte cumple la misma función y es muy recomendable.
