seit vs seitdem

When to Use

seit is a preposition taking Dativ — followed by a noun/time expression (seit zwei Jahren, seit Montag). seitdem is a conjunction introducing a subordinate clause (seitdem ich in Berlin wohne). Both mean 'since', but they have different grammar.
